The Contemporary Art Society kindly asked us to cater for their 19th Artist’s Table, a fundraising event in honour of Alvaro Barrington at his private studio in Whitechapel, raising over £150,000.
Guests were welcomed with negronis and G&Ts, kindly donated by MarGin, and a selection of canapés with a Caribbean twist. Guests were then taken on a tour of the artist’s private studio in the complex that includes the site of the first free school in London, established in 1680.
After an insightful In Conversation with Alvaro Barrington discussing his latest works, guests were led across the candle-lit garden to dinner in the late-19th-century, neo-Jacobean assembly hall to sit down for a three course meal, with paired wines generously donated by Corney & Barrow and music produced by Calvin Bennion in the background.
